The automaker Runiran has laid off 200 workers, according to Iranian labour activist Parvin Mohammadi.
ILNA reports that after two months of a complete halt in production, the automaker has begun work again but with a large decrease in its workforce.
The laid off workers had been employed by the plant anywhere between two and 16 years.
Runiran has been experiencing problems due to a shortage of raw materials. The company used to produce three buses daily using 250 workers.
A shortage of raw materials due to international sanctions on Iran made it impossible to maintain production, leading to the widespread layoffs.
