Jailed student activist gets first furlough

Majid Dori, a jailed Iranian student activist who was arrested in the election protests of 2009, has been given his first furlough since first being arrested
.
Dori, who has been expelled from university for his activism, was arrested four years ago and sentenced to six years in jail.
Five years of Dori’s sentence are to be served in exile, and he is, therefore, currently serving his sentence at Karoon Prison in Ahwaz.
Kaleme reports that Dori was given his first temporary release on the night of Wednesday August 28.
