Iranian Regimes media Mehr reported: A fairly strong earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit the city of Parsabad in the north of Ardabil Province,
the Persian service of the Mehr News Agency reported. Reports say that no one has been killed or seriously injured in the earthquake. Given the strong earthquakes that hit East Azarbaijan Province on August 11, the earthquake caused panic among the people and compelled them to flee their homes. The earthquakes in East Azarbaijan Province left thousands of people homeless in villages in the Varzaqan and Ahar regions. Official figures put the number of the dead at 306 and the injured at over 2000.
