According to Advar news, a website linked to an independent student called the Office for Fostering Unity, Ali Ajami, who recently finished serving a two-year prison sentence, has been expelled from Tehran University.

Ajami was arrested on 10 February 2010 and was sentenced to four years in prison in August that year for charges of collusion and propaganda against the state. The sentence was later commuted to a two-year jail-term in Alborz province.

The law student was only fifteen credits away from graduating when he was barred from attending university.
