One prisoner was hanged in Western Iran

ax.jpgIran Human Rights, July 24: One prisoner was hanged in the prison of Ilam (western Iran) reported the official website of the judiciary of Ilam Province.

 

According to the report the prisoner was identified as "H. B." and was convicted of "keeping and carrying narcotic drugs". No further specifications were given in the report. The execution took place in the prison of Ilam on Thursday July 19, said the report.

According to the IHR’s statistics more than 80% of those executed in Iran are convicted of drug-related crimes. However less than 10% of these people are identified by their full names.
